Our History with NHL
Owner of K Design Studio, Kristine Verbeek, first worked with the NHL® as a Licensor with HG Brands. There she was Creative Director and led the graphic design staff for 6 years, working closely with the merchandise department, and approvals for over 20 licenses, helping to develop 1000s of products yearly for 100s of mass market stores; including Walmart, Zellers, Toys R Us and Canadian Tire. Two of the main licenses included the NHL® and NHL Players Association®.
At HG Brands, Kristine learned the ins and outs of the NHL® Licensing world, procedures, their product and packaging specifications. She also traveled to New York and Toronto to meet with NHL® Account Executives, and managed all Licensee product approvals and communications. In 2007, Kristine started up K Design Studio, and was referred by the NHL® to another licensed merchandise development company, Stone Age. They needed an experienced product designer. K Design Studio has continued to design NHL® product and packaging for Stone Age for a number of years!
NHL® Licensed Product Exchange Shows
Along with designing NHL® and other custom products for Stone Age, K Design Studio directly assisted the Toronto Consumer Products Marketing Team to design signage, badges and booklets for a number of their Official NHL® Licensed Product Exchange Shows for 4 years! Kristine’s invitation to watch an Toronto Maple Leafs® game from their NHL Box as a thank you from Account Executive, Samantha & Jody was a highlight in her design career! See visuals below.
NHL® LIDS stores
K Design Studio also worked closely with the Toronto office to print and coordinate in-store POS for LIDS Store NHL® Licensed programs across Canada.
