ALS 50km Together
May 9, 2015 ALS 50km Run – Essex County Greenway
2 more days until the big event!
Kristine Verbeek, Creative Director for K Design, was honoured to donate her design services this year for a very worthy cause and heart touching special event. This Saturday, May 9, 2015, 3 fellas will be running 50km on the Essex County Greenway to raise funds for ALS in memory of Tommy Wallace, father of Kyle Wallace, one of the runners in the event. Tommy passed away from the disease in 2013. Donation work included illustrated logo, posters, and website designs along with marketing advice.
If you would like to help spread the word and support this event, please LIKE and share this post for a couple more days. Donation links, event, ALS educational info, and all their pics and media hype can be found on our website ALS 50km . All are also welcome to come to the send off and finish line party/raffle to help support these 3 great guys and cause.
Special thanks to Trevor Page from Innoveight for donating his time to do the website programming, and David Creed from Forearm Graphics for printing the posters. Good luck Jamie Waldron, Kyle Wallace + Jay Thompson!
Together..we can help create a world without ALS.
Logo design + meaning
The white silhouette is the map of Essex County and the red line is their 50km route.
The running tread mark contains illustrated silhouettes of Kyle and his dad. They are joined within the same tread to represent the connection and imprint loved ones make on our lives, and how together we can make a difference.

Jamie Waldron, Ultra-Marathon Runner, ALS50km Organizer:
I also wanted to thank you, from ALL of us, for all your hard work. When someone comes on out of the goodness of their hearts, we don’t take that lightly. You’ve become an integral part of this and we’d just like to acknowledge that. Hopefully we’ll all meet at Rino’s in May. Thanks again, Jamie
Jim Crichton, News Anchorman, CTV-Toronto:
That’s a very sharp graphic they’ve devised right behind you!
