Volleyball Centres – New Branding – 2 locations

Daniel Shermer has known Creative Director, Kristine Verbeek since his father George coached her varsity volleyball team at Sheridan College. It’s been great to watch his volleyball career grow from his years playing varsity, co-managing Beach Blast in Toronto, then starting Unity Volleyball Club. During Covid, after Beach Blast shut down, and gym facilities were not available, Josh realized that the growing sport of volleyball needed access to more GYMS, that were not controlled by school boards. He joined forces with 3 others, including previous Beach Blast owners, to start the GTA’s first volleyball facility chain, under the branding of “Volleyball Centre”. So “Toronto Volleyball Centre” and “Vaughan Volleyball Centre” were both born!

Vaughan Volleyball Centre is within the new GTA Sportsplex in Vaughan where they have a combined 9 volleyball indoor courts. Toronto Volleyball Centre has 2 courts located inside the Hangar Sports & Event Centre at Downsview Park. Both centres offer Youth and Adult programming from clinics, tournaments, camps and leagues, along with court rentals.

Daniel called on K Design Studio to create their new branding, along with a consistent series of logos, that could continue to expand with new locations through the years. Daniel had a vision of using silhouettes, to help show inclusivity. We created a generic looking silhouette, incorporated with a sports ball shaped background, merged with a duo-coloured background to represent how volleyball brings a diverse range of people, teams, cultures, skills and abilities together from all forces and levels to help players continue to grow, learn and thrive through their volleyball careers.

The Volleyball Centre is dedicated to providing leadership and expertise in the development, delivery and growth of the sport of volleyball.
To GROW volleyball by securing indoor and outdoor sport surface courts across Ontario for the use of volleyball.
To unite the volleyball community by making the sport more accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities.
